Banksy is a graffiti artist in UK. He was born in 1974 at Bristol. His works can be seen around UK and the world. Wherever he travels, he makes sure to leaves his mark. He doesn’t call himself an artist but despite his claim, I’ll consider him one. He doesn’t sell screenprints or little copies of his pieces, but rather art auctioners sell the piece and leave it to the new owner on how to remove it. (damn) His works are a combination of graffiti spray paint and stencils.

The same reason I like Banksy is why I like Shepard Fairey, I love spray paint works. I like artworks that aren’t limited to a canvas. Most people associate graffiti with gangs and just mindless colors against the wall, although I’ll admit, I’ve seen my share and it’s extremely irritating to look at. No, when graffiti is done right, it’s an extremely wonderful. And they don’t have to be extremely detailed, they can just be small things. Although I favor more for Fairey, Banksy is definetly on my top favs. I just wish he provided prints. I think that’s the reason I’m kinda mad at him.
